Several works by Zombola have been premiered at foreign and Hungarian music festivals alike. He composes film and incidental music as well. He has been a composer student of the Doctor of Liberal Arts faculty of the Liszt Academy of Music between 2006 and 2009, he got his PhD degree in 2010. He teaches at the Faculty of Singing and Music of the University of Dramatic and Film Arts since September 2004 and at the Eszterházy Károly College since 2009 and he works at the MR Symphonic as artistic coordinator.

Peter Zombola was born on the 2nd of March 1983 in Budapest. At the age of 6 he began playing the clarinet and at the age of 8 also the piano. From 1997 to 2001 he attended the Béla Bartók Secondary School of Music as a pupil of Miklós Kocsár and Miklós Csemiczky, then he studied composition at the Ferenc Liszt Academy of Music Budapest with Zoltán Jeney and György Orbán. In 2003 he won the 2nd Prize of the Semmering International Summer Academy and in 2004 the 2nd Prize of the composition competition of the Liszt Academy. An ex aequo 2nd Prize was given to his piece at the István Vántus Composers’ Competition in Szeged 2004. He received the Zoltán Kodály Scholarship of the Ministry of Education and Culture in 2007 and 2008. In 2006 he took his degree of composition and teaching with distinction and a year  later his diploma as a teacher of analysis, also with honours.
